Is anyone out there as excited I am that you can now buy little tubs of paint from your paint store for only around $3.00????!!!! Never again will I be buying those scrawny 2oz bottles of paint from the craft store! You get SO MUCH more in a sample paint size AND.....wait for it.....THEY CAN MATCH ANY COLOR! And don't even get me started on Home Depot's "oops" table! I never walk in there without
I use this paint on everything! They are great to have when you need smaller quantities and don't want to buy a whole quart of paint.
This is only a fraction of the paint I really have. I couldn't get it stacked high enough for a photo without it tumbling over. And yes, if I were not such a slob better crafter, I'd have nice clean sample bottles. Not like this one. Trust me, they are much easier to open when you WIPE OFF THE RIM! Simple fix.
These are the paints I used when I did this chest for my grandson's Jungle themed bedroom.
And then when he switched to a Sports theme....
Sorry about the flash....camera phone!
I honestly don't know how much more paint this little dresser can handle but when the next theme comes along, I'll be ready!
Does anyone else use these little gems or am I the only fool who thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread????

I'm with you! I've done so many projects using these $3 samples, and I always use them before I paint a room, etc!
ReplyDeletep.s. Your artistic ability is awesome...those dresser drawers are so cool!
Ok so not only is your idea for gathering inexpensive paint genius (albeit space consuming) but your paint and repaint of the dresser is awesome! Thanks for sharing with us over at NOBH!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love being called genius! I would say it's more that I'm a serious cheapskate and nothing chaps my hide more than having to pay for those teeny 2 oz bottles of paint! Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment! I'm headed your way right now!!
DeleteThis is Melissa @ Daisy Mae Belle. I just found out about paint samples! I love the oops! table! I have gotten so many great colors off of that shelf! Your dressers are great! Life to the full to you!
ReplyDeleteGood GRIEF I can't believe those dressers! I am in awe....LOVE THEM !
ReplyDeleteThose dressers are awesome! I love them, too! Of course having all the paint in the world doesn't help if you have NO artistic ability! But I like looking at yours! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat dressers! You are one truly talented grandma! I've never really considered the "oops" table for buying paint, but it sure makes sense. Will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you linked up to the GRAND Social! Thank you for joining us!
I've never used the paint samples, but your chest is so inspiring, maybe I will try them.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I would love to say that you did a great job on this dresser...I am in love!!!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you are finding these $3.00 samples. Can you tell me the name of the paint store you are currently finding these great deals at????
Thanks!
They are the sample jars from Home Depot and Lowes. They'll mix any color you want. I'm especially crushing on Home Depot when they have a bunch of those sample jars in their "oops" stack for 50 cents!!! Thanks for your sweet comment on my dresser!
